What Is It?

Dreigiau Cadi is a live action children’s series broadcast on S4C.  Filmed on location at the Talyllyn Railway in Mid Wales, steam train driver, Cadi is using her Victorian railway to teach two young dragons about the world around them.  This fun, fantastical comedy series, explores a rich diversity of topics from mechanics to mathematics, history to telling the time, and search and rescue to recycling.  

Location

Set in a timeless environment of polished brass and ornate ironwork, with the mountainous terrain of south Snowdonia providing a stunning backdrop for each programme.

 

Cadi’s trains run through a UNESCO world heritage site as a result of the Talyllyn’s long association with the Welsh Slate Industry.

Who Watches It?

Dreigiau Cadi is perfect family viewing, as an original adventure series with a hint of nostalgia, every episode offers fun for all the family appealing to multigenerational audiences.

 

Beautifully shot live action sequences are brought to life with layered CGI and dynamic GFX realise each story.  

Our friendly, playful dragons are brought to life by talented Puppet Designer, Jess Jones, Production Design is by Dafydd Shurmer (Doctor Who, Sherlock) , additional graphic elements from renowned Comic book artist Mike Collins, while music for the series is created by the Emmy award winning composer Brollyman.

 

The Series features the acting talents of Mabli Gwynne, Iwan John, and Meilyr Sion with guest appearances from Tudur Owen, Catrin Fychan, Rolant Davies and Julian Lewis Jones.  

Series 1 can be found on S4C and is available on catch up on S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer while Series 2 is currently in production and will be broadcast in Autumn 2024.
